Description	View looking down Greenmanville Avenue of a house identified as the Allyn house. Several trees are uprooted in the aftermath of the 1938 hurricane and appear to be leaning against the house. A car can be seen in the middle of the street apparently moving away from the camera.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. On back in ink "Looking down/ 49 Greenmanville/ Ave. Mystic, Conn/ Mother's house."; in pencil: "Sept 22/1938". Formerly a single story house, possibly one of the oldest in Mystic, the Langworthy House underwent many modifications over time, including the raising of the first floor and construction of a new one during the nineteenth century. The house was owned briefly by the Greenman family, and later by the Langworthys and served as a boarding house for mill and shipyard workers during the second half of the nineteenth century. From 1931-1974 it was owned by the Allyn family. The Langworthy/Allyn house is currently part of Mystic Seaport.
