Description	View looking north at Mystic (Greenmanville) Manufacturing Co. buildings. The Mystic River is partially visible to the left. A wood fence extends from the right to the center of the picture in the foreground.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Mystic Manufacturing Company occupied the site of earlier textile enterprises, including a mill (Greenmanville Manufacturing Co.) owned by George Greenman & Company. Renamed in 1897, Mystic Manufacturing Company produced worsted wool, specializing in military uniform cloth during the World War I period. The brick buildings have survived and include a gambrel-roofed structure, now called the Stillman Building; all are presently part of Mystic Seaport. The area along the Mystic River on the Stonington side north of downtown Mystic was known as Greenmanville. Three of the Greenman brothers, including middle brother Clark, lived and had their shipyard and mill in this area in the nineteenth century. Photo has several tears.
