Description	Starboard view of stern wheel steamboat Mississippi hauled out and resting on what appear to be blocks. "MISSISSIPPI" is painted on her bow. An open area with a few small trees and bushes can be seen in the background. Printed at top: "Stern Wheel Steamboat 'Mississippi,' /Driven by a Lathrop Gasoline Engine,/Boat designed and built by Chas Q. Eldredge./At 'Riverview' Old Mystic, Conn., 1908."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Identification of vessel as a steamboat with a gasoline engine is not explained. Charles Q. Eldredge (born 1845) was an Old Mystic native who in 1917 founded a private museum of curiosities that was located on the Groton side of the Mystic River in the Old Mystic area. Possibly taken near Riverview Cottage, Eldredge's residence on the site of the family homestead.
