Description	Masked people in a make-believe vessel seen in starboard view stand among a crowd or parade gathered on the streets of New London. "J.B.C. No l" and "PRO" can be seen on the hull of the vessel. Stores are visible in the background. Signs on the storefronts read, from left to right: "LUCY SHOES" "120 CHARLES W. STRICKLAND. 120" "BARROWS THE SHOEMAN". To the right of the Barrows sign is a building number: "126". Above the Barrows sign two signs are visible: A.F. [?] LIPPITT JP [or JR]/ATTORNEY __ LAW" and "WALLACE R. JOHNSON/REAL ESTATE AND INSURANCE/NOTARY PUBLIC". Handwritten on back of photo "Between 1907 & 1911. Capt. Lather [?] was Commodore from Feb. 22, 1906 to Feb. 22, 1911/ He stands under the flag at stern./ EFG/ 1910."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The vessel is possibly being used as a float and probably belonged to the Jibboom Club, a social organization for seamen founded by whaling captains in the 1870s, reorganized in 1891 and dissolved in 1959. "EFG" is possibly Ernest F. Gates.
