Description	A group of men, apparently soldiers in Civil War era uniform, stand in front of a building identified as the County Court House, on Huntington Street at the head of State Street, New London. Some young boys and what appears to be a wagon can be seen to the left of the courthouse entrance.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Printed on card left side "H.W. MORGAN'S Gallery, 55 State St., New London, Conn./ W.F. DOUGLASS, Photographist." Negative that appears to be identical image (1975.294.374) is identified as probably the work of Everett A. Scholfield, a professional photographer who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913. Built in 1784, the County Courthouse, now the New London Superior Courthouse, is one of the oldest in the country still in continuous use. Its original location was in the middle of Huntington Street. It was later moved back to its present location. Albumen prints mounted on lavender card.
