Description	Starboard view of side-wheel steamer City of Worcester with the Thames River and Groton shore visible beyond. The flagpole and carriages on Lower State Street (known as "The Parade") are in the foreground. A passenger ferry, possibly the Uncas, can be seen in the center middle ground. The railroad ferry Groton is partially visible to the far right. Possibly taken during the City of Worcester's maiden voyage, 1881. The building at far right is the railroad station later replaced by Union Station. Printed at bottom: "State Street and Old Ferry Landing---New London, Conn."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The City of Worcester was one of the steamers that plied Long Island Sound, linking New York and New England cities through coordinated water and rail transport. She was part of the Norwich & New York Transportation Company fleet. Though the photograph is earlier, the postcard was probably produced in the 1900-1916 time period.
