Description	View of the village of Hitchcocksville, now known as Riverton, looking east. At the far left is labeled a "sand bank with large stones" with a "stone wall" on top of it. Beyond is a "School." The upper part of a "factory" - the Hitchcock chair factory - is beyond. On the other side of the bridge across the Farmington River is a "Tavern." On the right (south) side of the road are a large number of buildings, including a small gothic church, labeled "Union Church, Episcopal." Behind the church are other buildings, a "meadow" "cornfield" and "corn" are indicated. A "stone wall" is in the right foreground. The hill behind the village is largely bare with patches of trees.<br>
