Description	View of Great Captain Island Light. The two-story granite building has a gable roof and cupola. Two other structures can be seen to the left and right of the lighthouse. A shoreline can be seen in the distance beyond the island. Printed at the bottom: "Great Captain Island Light, Long Island Sound, Conn."
Notes	Described as "at the western part of Long Island Sound". Built in 1868, the granite structure replaced an earlier one. It had a four-man staff until the light was automated in 1970. The lighthouse and island belong to the town of Greenwich. Published in Germany. Published by Hugh C. Leighton Co., Mfg, Portland, ME, #28115. Postcard in album.
