Description	Nine young men sit in and in front of what appears to be a camp structure. An elderly man with a long white beard and hat, identified as one of the Mason brothers (Andrew or John), lies on the ground to the right.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Handwritten on back: "CAMP RENTED BY NEW LONDON (CONN.) YOUNG MEN (SAID TO BE THE FORERUNNER OF THE LATER MASON'S ISLAND YACHT CLUB" and "Reclining beside the building is the Mason who owned the E. side of the Mason House on Mason's Island, descendant of the original Capt. John Mason. The above Mason lived "with" his brother in the same house for years. Each occupied one side of the house. They were on non-speaking terms for many years & it is said that their descendants hesitated to bury them in the same plot." Captain John Mason was one of the leaders of the 1637 Pequot War against the Pequot tribe of Native Americans. Approximate date based on dating of related photographs. Mounted on card, 9 1/2 x 12 1/2 in. Lower right corner broken off and taped together.
