Description	Port stern view of the four-masted schooner Marie Gilbert prior to being launched at Gilbert Transportation Company, Mystic. Flags are flying in her rigging. An unidentified tugboat can be seen at her stern. Central Hall is visible to the left of the Marie Gilbert. At center is the Mystic highway/trolley bridge and at right is port stern view of 3-masted schooner Fortuna, with flags flying, at anchor. Crowds line the bridge, and a number of people can be seen in rowboats. At right foreground is a fish rack.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Built 1906 at Gilbert Transportation Company and named for the founder's wife, Marie Gilbert was a four-masted schooner with an auxiliary engine. Gilbert Transportation Company was located just south of the drawbridge on the Groton side of the river. Founded by Captain Mark L. Gilbert, the company specialized in repair and rebuilding work and was active from 1906-1909. Financial troubles resulted in the closing of the shipyard in 1909. Fortuna was rebuilt in Mystic ca. 1906. Dimensions on mount: 13 3/4 x 17 in Written in pencil on reverse "54/ Fr 300X" Mounted on grey-brown board
