Description	Depiction of the entrance to Chas. Q. Eldredge's museum. Two signs are posted along what appears to be a dirt road. A man stands to the right next to what may be an intersection. A car can be seen across the street on the right. Two gable-roofed buildings that may be houses are visible in the left and right background. The sign on the left, fastened to a pole, reads: MAY 26, 1637 CAPT JOHN MASON/HERE CROSSED THE MYSTIC RIVER/GOING TO PORTERS ROCKS R88S [?] SW/CAMPING THERE & THE NEXT MORNING BURNED/THEIR FORT AND SOME 800 [?] PEQUOT INDIANS". The sign on the right reads: "VISITORS WELCOME/[silhouette of pointing hand] TO MUSEUM" Printed at top."Entrance from Main Street to the Private Museum of Chas. Q. Eldredge, Mystic, Conn." and at bottom "where over 3,000 Visitors register each Year."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Location depicted is uncertain. Charles Q. Eldredge (born 1845) was an Old Mystic native who in 1917 founded a private museum of curiosities that was located on the Groton side of the Mystic River in the Old Mystic area. Printed on back "E.C. KROPP CO., MILWAUKEE".
