Description	View looking across the Mystic River toward Water Street on the Groton side. The Standard Machinery Company building can be seen in the left background. A number of houses, waterfront structures, and other buildings, are also visible on the Groton side of the river. Boats and waterfront structures can be seen in the foreground on the Stonington side. A three-masted schooner, seen in starboard stern view, is partially visible in the right background.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The Standard Machinery Company had a long history in Mystic under a variety of names. Founded in 1843 as the Reliance Machine Company, which manufactured cotton gins and later marine engines, it underwent a number of changes of ownership and name. It became the Standard Machinery Co. sometime after 1873. Bookbinding machinery was among the products manufactured. In 1904 the company was purchased by Charles E. Wheeler and the older buildings replaced with a brick one.
