Description	Scenic view of Old Mystic looking north up the Mystic River. Buildings visible in the background include the Mystic Bank.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The Mystic Bank was built in 1833 in Old Mystic (then called Mystic). At some point after the relocation of the banking business to a larger building in 1856, the original structure was used as a carpenter's shop. The granite structure was purchased by Mystic Seaport in 1944 and dismantled, moved and rebuilt on the Mystic Seaport grounds. Typed in left-hand margin: "E.A. SCHOLFIELD, PHOTO. MYSTIC RIVER, CONN." Everett A. Scholfield was a professional photographer who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913. Mystic River was the name for the area of Mystic village on the Groton side of the Mystic River. This area had formerly been known as Portersville. Approximate date based on chronology of Scholfield's career. Mounted on board: 6 3/4 x 10 in.
