Description	Port beam view of the motor yacht Jem underway on the Thames River at the Harvard-Yale Boat Race, New London, June 1930. Other spectator vessels and the Thames River Lumber Co. building can be seen in the background, with a small freight train at passing.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Handwritten on original negative sleeve: "Jem / Box 2833". Stamped on sleeve: "40094F / NEW LONDON RACES 1930". Jem was designed by John H. Wells and built by Consolidated Ship Building in Morris Heights, New York, 1930. She was renamed Jessica after 1973. Taken by Rosenfeld and Sons. Morris Rosenfeld founded the New York City-based photography business in 1910. He was a prolific photographer particularly noted for coverage of yachting and other maritime subjects. His sons Stanley, David and Bill were also active in the profession and the family firm.
