Description	Bow view of the motor yacht Faith underway.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Typed label gives the Faith's length of waterline as 76', beam 13', draft 6' and identifies her as owned by Irving E. Raymond of the New York Yacht Club. She had a 70 BHP Mianus diesel engine and a speed of 9 1/2 knots, "this power plant is equipped with an expansion chamber of special design which makes the exhaust hardly audible on the navigating bridge directly forward of the stack." Mianus Diesel Engine Co., 39 McGee Avenue, Stamford, succeeded the earlier Mianus Motor Works in 1919. Mianus Motor Works manufactured gasoline engines for boats, specializing in fitting auxiliary motors to yachts, but also supplying engines for working boats. The company is listed as located in Stamford from 1911 on. In 1919 it became the Mianus Diesel Engine Co., manufacturing diesel engines for various types of vessels. Mounted on cloth page in album.
