Description	Port view of schooner yacht Water Witch on starboard tack. New London [Harbor?] Light is visible in the right background. Written along top margin in blue ink "Schooner yacht WATER WITCH Built by D. O. Richmond, Mystic 1881"
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Water Witch was designed and built by D.O. Richmond of Mystic for "Mallory" [Charles Henry?], 1881. It was owned by David Banks in 1892. David O. Richmond established his yard along Water Street, Mystic, in the late 1860's. He had started out as a ship carpenter and gained a reputation as a designer and builder of smaller vessels. He had a long working relationship with Charles Henry Mallory. Richmond's boatbuilding business endured into the early twentieth century. On reverse is written, one line in pencil, the other in pen "WATER WITCH DAVID BANKS , FLAG - ATLANTIC YC, NY, LEAVING NEW LONDON HBR/ Built by D. O. Richmond, Mystic 1881 length 145'"
