briefly
by the
Greenman
family
, and
later
by the
Langworthys
, the
Langworthy/Allyn
house
served
as a
boarding
house
for
mill
and
shipyard
workers
during
the
second
half
of the
nineteenth
century
. From
1931-1974
it
was
owned
by the
Allyn
family
,
who
sold
it
to
Mystic
Seaport
. The
George
Greenman
House
(1839)
was the
first
of
three
houses
built
by the
Greenman
brothers
for
themselves
and their
families
. The
Langworthy/Allyn
and
all
three
Greenman
houses
are
now
owned
by
Mystic
Seaport
.
