Light
House

situated/
on the
end
of the
long
point
of
land
.
This/
light
house
has a
fog
horn
too
but
it
sounds/
just
like
a
big
coarse
whistle.
" This
station
was
established
in
1760
. The
current
conical
tower
was
constructed
of
brownstone
in
1801
, and
keeper's
quarters
in
1863
(enlarged
in
1900)
. The
station
was
automated
in
1912
. In
schoolbook
writing
pad
converted
to
photo
album
described
as "The
beginning
of the
good
ship/

packet
schooner
formerly
the
Lucy
R
. of
Nova
Scotia
. She was
purchased
by the
Cleveland
Museum
of
Natural
History
with
funds
from a
Mrs
.
Blossom
and
made
a
voyage
to the
Indian
Ocean
to
gather
ornithological
specimens
.
Blossom
was
fitted
out
in
New
London
and
sailed
out
of that
port
circa
1923
.
