Description	Port bow view of the open deck oyster boat Coumbia tied up at pier. Two men are on deck. The bow of the open deck oyster steamer Stratford is visible astern of the Columbia.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Columbia was bulit in Tottenville, New York, 1906 and was one of the first gasoline-powered oyster boats. She may have been based in Milford. The Stratford was built in Bridgeport, 1891. Oystering was an important Connecticut industry in the 19th and 20th centuries. New Haven and South Norwalk were among the centers of local and regional cultivation and harvesting. The peak period was 1885-1910.
