Department
during
the
Civil
War
. From
1871-1903
, she
ran
between
Norwich
and
Watch
Hill
,
Rhode
Island
.
Mounted
on
gray
card
with
gold
beveled
edges
. The
Charles
Mallory
&
Sons
shipyard
was
located
on the
east
(Stonington)
bank
of the
Mystic
River
,
approximately
on the
site
of the
present
duPont
Preservation
Shipyard
at
Mystic
Seaport
.
It
produced
a
number
of
sail
and
steam
vessels
from
1851
to
1875
, with the
Civil
War
period
the
most
active
.
